“The impact that our stage installation has had upon staff and pupils and the school community as a whole has been amazing. Our stage is a focal point – not only used for special class performances, plays, poetry readings and musical performances, but also in our day to day assemblies. Although we had to have the work done during term time, the engineers from CentreStage worked incredibly efficiently and we were able to ‘christen’ our stage very quickly. CentreStage provided us with a comprehensive sound and light system and feedback from parents has been extremely positive. Even now, you still hear cries of ‘wow!’ from the children each time the lights go on!  The sound system is easy to use and the wide range of microphone options has enabled children to perform confidently on stage. Together with the addition of the wide variety of stage and effects lighting, the quality of our productions has notably increased.

The odd technical hitch along the way has been resolved effectively and without question and CentreStage has been on hand to answer any questions that a non-technical person like me has had!   Since CentreStage completed the installation, the school wide attitude to performance has changed. Everyone wants to be involved! The children and staff are taking the Arts more seriously as there is now a professional platform for them to showcase their creative work.

What is great about this equipment is that most of it is simple enough for the children to use as well, so we have trained up a ‘Tech Team’ who have their own, but no less important, role in our performances. All in all, money well spent!”
Sarah Winser, Performing Arts Coordinator, London Fields Primary School, Hackney, London

“When we were granted the funds to update our school hall sound system, I obtained several quotes from UK companies before choosing David and the team at CentreStage Technology. CentreStage instantly appealed with David’s personal attention to detail and wealth of experience. He offered unbiased advice and really listened to what we needed in our multi-purpose school hall. He made several visits to the school and was also regularly in contact via email to ensure that I was happy with all product decisions and equipment options. The CentreStage team installed the entire set-up during a school half-term, which was ideal, and then returned to provide an instructive session for our staff. We now have a dual system: one for day to day use in assemblies and meetings, with connections to a laptop, iPod dock, CD player and up to four mics; then a portable flight cased rack at the back of the hall with a large mixing desk, plus six radio mics, iPod dock, CD player and connections to monitor speakers up on the stage. Both systems have been well used on a regular basis as well as well as for musical productions, GCSE and A-level Performing Arts assessments and school concerts. It is a pleasant relief to have a system that’s reliable, ready to go and sounds superb. CentreStage Technology continues to be on hand to answer any queries I have, from long-term solutions to last-minute panics on concert days!”
Louise Burdett, Head of Music, Stratford-upon-Avon Grammar School for Girls.

“We are delighted with our new stage sound and lighting installed by CentreStage. The team was very professional and provided us with expert advice about choosing the right products for our needs. The end result has made an incredible difference to our productions, school events and assemblies. David and the team come highly recommended.
Dale Burr, Headteacher, Oakhurst Community Primary School, Swindon.

“Having met the CentreStage team at BETT 2013, their director David and I worked together to create the perfect sound system specification for our school hall. Installed within just a few weeks after the show, all went well and I am very pleased with the system. I would like to say thank you to you and your team for this. You have been helpful from start to finish and your reassuringly knowledgeable installers are a credit to your company.”
Paul Knight, Information Systems Manager, Welford Primary School, Birmingham.

“After a major building project the school was left with a new main hall that had no stage, sound or lighting system. We were able to share our visions with CentreStage, for them to turn our ideas into a reality. Where other companies stumbled across problems, the staff at CentreStage Technology only saw challenges which they were able and keen to conquer. The end result is that our school now has a theatre system which has far exceeded our expectations. We are now able to offer our children the opportunity to experience every aspect of what it takes to put together professional productions using state of the art equipment. Sudbury Primary School would not hesitate to recommend CentreStage Technology for projects similar to ours and we hope that the good relationship formed with them continues into the future.”
Jacqui Whall, School Administrator, Sudbury Primary School, Wembley.

“My school, The Rosary Catholic Primary is situated in the Saltley area of Birmingham.  In 2008, a colleague and I set up a drama group in school to assist children with their speaking and listening skills.  We had (and still have) a large percentage of children who speak English as a second language.  The group was very popular and we produced our first play in the summer of 2009, presenting it in the school hall.  The primitive lighting ‘system’ did little to augment that performance and despite the shows being successful aesthetically since then, I felt that so much more could be gained by having a proper lighting arrangement.

In 2011 the drama group staged a show at Solihull Library Theatre. This was a fantastic experience for our children and that was the catalyst for a revamp of the school hall.  A stage was built for us by a local carpenter relative and at the same time I began to look for companies who provide stage lighting for primary schools.  I had to submit a minimum of three quotes to my Head teacher and the Board of Governors.

I trawled the internet looking for companies that install lights for primary schools. Having read various testimonies and reviews of several companies, I eventually chose three. Each company sent out a representative and all were helpful, knowledgeable and informative.
After studying each bid carefully, I decided to opt for CentreStage Technology. On his visit to school, Managing Director David Nibbs impressed me with his openness and demeanour. This, coupled with an impressive overall presentation that CentreStage was offering, made my mind up for me.

When worked commenced in July this year, the engineers were extremely courteous and professional. We have a hectic dinner-time schedule in school and they worked around this with no fuss. At the end of each day they were meticulous in tidying up. They also showed great patience when teaching a fellow colleague and I how to operate our new lighting equipment and were very obliging.

Our first production, ‘The Jungle Book’, presented in July, shortly after the installation of the lights, was as astronomical success. The lights were incredibly effective and enriched the performance. Children in the audience ‘ooh’d and ahh’d’ at the changing colour sequences of the lights. The system gave the production a real professional appearance. The actors on stage felt as though they were in a theatre and said their acting became better with the lighting arrangements.

When asked about the CentreStage Technology lighting system, Umaima Gandhi, a Year 6 student and leading actor in the Rosary Drama Group said “The lights give great effect to our plays and they make me feel like a professional actor on stage. I think the lights are amazing!”

The system is easy to use and we are now training year 5 children to operate it. We regularly use the lights for assemblies, music concerts and, of course, our burgeoning drama group.

With Christmas coming up the lights will be in great demand for the various nativity plays, talent shows, spelling B’s and discos that are being held in school over the forthcoming weeks.

I would have no hesitation in recommending CentreStage Technology to any school or organisation looking to improve sound and/or lighting. And no doubt we will hear more ‘oohs and ahhs’ as the lights continue to enthral the children at The Rosary.”
Joe Perkins, The Rosary Catholic Primary School

It has been a real joy working with the whole team at CentreStage Technology on the two installations they have done at Spring Common School. I have found everyone I have communicated with very helpful and courteous.  Initially we had one combined audio and lighting project but this was split into two and installed over two summer school holiday breaks. Both installations came with full equipment training that has been very valuable to our staff. Their 3 year warranty has meant that we have free technical and fault support, over the telephone and on site visits. Of all the companies I dealt with on these projects I found that CentreStage Technology had the best understanding of what we needed for our Special Needs School requirements and were able to turn these into two fantastic systems that are genuine value for money.”
John Sutton, Bursar, Spring Common School, Huntingdon.

“We have a wonderful purpose built theatre that has to fulfill a multitude of purposes in a busy London day school catering for 500 pupils.  But both the sound and stage lighting were rather antiquated.  CentreStage Technology worked with our staff, assessing our needs from the room to then design and install a superb system for the music, drama and assembly/presentation demands that exist here. We have found that we are now using our new equipment to enhance so many other uses of the hall that previously happened without light and sound and therefore pupils are now getting involved in ‘theatre studies’ on a level that few prep schools could equal!  In the early days we found that programming the lighting appeared too complex.  But Lee, their Technical Manager responsible for installing the system, made several visits to help us achieve success with the most complex of demands.  Lee even came along for an evening performance of our Middle School play to see what we had achieved… Now that’s support that goes beyond any company that I have ever worked with in my experience!  I would not hesitate to recommend CentreStage for installing lighting and sound systems into schools. We will keep our relationship with them as they have future proofed our system and shown where and how it can expand over the coming years in order to continue to meet our needs.”
Tim Calvey, Deputy Headteacher, Orley Farm School, Harrow-on-the-Hill.

“We heard about CentreStage Technology from another school in the area who had been really pleased with the standard of installation of their new stage lighting system. We must say that we too were certainly not disappointed! The engineers were professional and courteous as well as being extremely helpful and patient when teaching us how to operate all our new sound and lighting equipment. I can recommend CentreStage to other schools. They really listen to your requirements and design a system to perfectly meet your individual needs.  Our first performance with the new system looked so professional and we had many positive comments from our audience.”
Alison Watson, Head Teacher, Kings Meadow Primary School, Southport, Merseyside.

“At Leyland Methodist Junior School, we made a decision in October 2010 to install some stage lighting in our school hall.  The Parents, Teachers and Friends Association raised the necessary money (as they had done the previous year for the portable staging). The equipment offered by CentreStage Technology looked impressive and so we opted to place an order in the hope that, even at such short notice, the lighting could be installed in time for our Christmas production, Nativity Play and concerts. The CentreStage team were very efficient and effective in working with us to make it happen and the job was completed as quickly as possible.  It was just one month from issuing the order to installation of the LED lights and control desk. The children were delighted and captivated by the new lights which work very well for our hall. During the Christmas productions it was children who operated the system.  Everyone was pleased with the end result and parents in particular agree that we have now enhanced our school hall for all future productions and events.  We even make use of some of the effects for school discos! The after sales support provided by the CentreStage management has been very good and we are happy to recommend the company.  Should we decide, at some later date, to enhance or improve our sound or stage lighting facilities, we would be very happy to continue to work with CentreStage. Headteacher, Steve Austin, said: “I am pleased to recommend CentreStage without hesitation.  The installation engineers and management staff have been excellent in transforming the production experience in our school hall.  Everyone is happy with the result; parents, children and staff.” Year 4 pupil, Katie Ward, who was one of the lighting and sound operators for the Nativity Play in December, said: “After we had practiced how to use the lights, they were very good!”
Steve Austin, Headteacher, Leyland Methodist Junior School, Lancashire.

“Thank you for providing an excellent music and PA system which meets all our needs here in our primary school.  Our latest musical production was a great success because the children could be heard easily when using their new wireless microphones.  Thanks also for organising the installation so quickly following the breakdown of our old system. – Great customer service!
Karen Brooks, Headteacher, Weston Turville C. of E. School, Bucks.

“CentreStage provided an excellent and robust portable PA system which has supported numerous College events over the last couple of years. More recently they responded very quickly to an urgent need for additional pro audio components and their installation. We hosted a local final for a public speaking competition and all parties were very impressed with the support they received from the College and the CentreStage supplied equipment.”
John Hodge, Deputy Head Teacher, Feltham Community College, Hounslow, Middx.
